Fall!!!

The fall here in Georgia has been beautiful! The trees are all vibrant shades of red, yellow and orange! Here's a quick summary of what we have been up to!

Kevin got us tickets to see the musical Wicked for my birthday! We enjoyed a fun day in Atlanta and the show was amazing!!

Mr. and Mrs. Claunch came to visit us in early October! We took the CNN studio tower in Atlanta, went to our first Georgia football game, went to the Georgia Botanical gardens and tour the University of Georgia! We had a wonderful time and can't wait for them to come back soon!

I lucky enough to get to take a trip to Boston with my Grandma Phillip! We got to visit with family we hadn't seen in awhile and had a great time!! It was wonderful to spend the week with her!!

I got a job! I am working for Landmark Hospital here in Athens. I am excited about this opportunity and anxious to learn something new! Kevin continues to enjoy his job here and we feel very fortunate that he works with some great people!

Kevin and I took a Sunday afternoon and went to Washington Farms. They have a pumpkin patch, a corn maze, pig races and many other activities! It was great to spend the afternoon outside!

This past weekend Corey and Alli came to visit! We hadn't seen them since their wedding this summer, so we had alot of catching up to do! We really enjoyed the weekend and are so happy they made the trip!

3 year Anniversary!!

We celebrated our 3 year anniversary on August 2nd! Kevin had the weekend off so we took a weekend trip to Augusta, GA. We had a great dinner and stayed at the Partridge Inn. It was a really neat hotel that was built in 1892. We really enjoyed its character and they had a wonderful brunch on Sunday morning. It was nice to get out of town and relax together for the weekend!

We are now back from our trip and starting to get settled in Athens, GA. Kevin started his new job at the University of Georgia this week and I am trying to get our new house unpacked and organized! I will try and post pictures soon!

Dallas!

On our way back to Georgia we stopped in Dallas! I had dinner with Emily, Erin and Angela! It was so great to see my old roommates! We also had a alot of fun spending time with Angela, Chris and Addison! Addy has grown so much since I last saw her in December.

Corey and Alli's Wedding

Corey and Alli got married in Austin on July 2nd! The wedding was beautiful and we enjoyed spending the weekend with family! Alli was a stunning bride and they both were so happy! It was a perfect day! Here are a few pictures I took! I will try and post more soon!

WOW, have we been busy this spring and summer!

We made a trip to Houston in May for two big events! Kyle graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in Industrial Distribution! We are so proud of him!! He accepted a job in San Antonio and started it this week!

Lauren and Jameson got married the same weekend Kyle graduated! We are so happy for them and I feel so blessed to have been a part of the wedding! Lauren was a beautiful bride and the wedding was alot of fun!

Rood and Riddle hosted a end of year party for the Interns. It was the first time that all the Interns had a night off since last year! We had a great time hanging with everyone!

We were sad to say goodbye to our friends in Lexington! My parents came down to help us pack up and make the move to Georgia. We took some time to tour some of the whiskey distilleries also!

We unloaded our stuff in Georgia and then headed to Texas! We spent a month visiting with our family and friends! We had a great time seeing everyone!

Kevin went to Corey's bachelor party and I went to Alli's bachelorette party. Both were in Austin and we all had a great time!

Kevin, Kerri, my mom and I all took a week and went to Iowa to visit our family! We loved seeing everyone and are so glad we were all able to make the trip together!

Kerri had her final surgery and is doing really well! We were so glad that we could be there with her on surgery day!! We had fun playing games and laughing at the funny things she said while she was still waking up!

Foaling Season!!

Spring is the busiest time for Kevin at the clinic. It is both foaling and breeding season! The hospital is full of new foals! They are adorable!! I saw my first foal born last night! It was really amazing! I hope to get the chance to see many more!

Kentucky Basketball!

We attended our first University of Kentucky basketball game this weekend! I have been wanting to see a game since we moved here! We had a blast and it was awesome to experience a game at Rupp Arena!!

Georgia here we come!!

Kevin received a residency position at the University of Georgia! We will be moving to Athens, GA in June. Kevin will work on staff at the university and continue to learn the skills needed to become board certified in large animal surgery! We will be in Athens for 3-4 years. We are so excited and feel so blessed that we have been given this opportunity! These position are very competitive and difficult to get!! We can't wait to see what is is store for us in Georgia!!

Winter

Lexington has had a very snowy winter! The landscape here is beautiful covered in snow!!

Kevin and I have enjoyed are first real winter together! The dogs have had fun playing in the snow also!!

We had a busy and exciting 2010 and we are looking forward to see what 2011 has in store for us! Kevin is currently applying for a Large Animal Residency position. There are very few available positions and they are all very competitive!! We will find out in mid-February if he is offered a position and then we will know where we will be moving in June! The next month will be stressful as we wait to hear, so please keep us in your prayers!!

I am behind in updating our blog! So, here's a quick recap of the end of 2010!!

The fall horse races began at Keeneland racetrack in September. We had so much fun experiencing our first Kentucky race.

I went to New Orleans and participated in the Susan G. Komen cancer walk with my family! It was great to see them and really special to complete the walk together! Several of my mom's friends came from Friendswood to be there with us!

Angela and Chris welcomed their daughter Addison Mae Burnett into the world on October 27th. She arrived a whole month early! I was able to go to Dallas and meet Miss Addy and spend a week with Angela and Chris. I feel so blessed to get to spend time with the Burnetts!! Angela and Chris are amazing parents and I can't wait to watch Addy grow with them!

We had a Halloween party at our house with the other interns Kevin works with. The parties theme was to dress like a stereotype from your home state! Kevin dressed as Walker Texas Ranger and I was a Dallas Cowboy cheerleader. Everyone had great costumes! We even dressed the dogs up!

We made a trip to Austin and attended Dustin and Jenni's wedding! The wedding was beautiful and it was great to see old friends!

Also, while we were in Austin, Corey proposed to Alli! We are so happy we could be there to share in such a special moment with them! They will be getting married in July!!

Mr. and Mrs. Claunch came to visit us in November. We were so happy to have company and to show them around Lexington! We went to the racetrack, distilleries, the horse park and saw several farms! We had a wonderful visit and can't wait until the come back again!!

Kevin had about 10 days off for Christmas, so we were able to head home to Texas!! We were able to celebrate with both of our families and see several friends! Our trip went by way too fast, but we are so glad we had the chance to go home for the holidays!!

We have been so lucky to already have had my mom, Kyle and Kerri come visit us! We had a blast with each one of them and enjoyed showing them around Lexington!! We saw Keeneland race track, the Kentucky Horse Park, Churchill Downs race track, went on a whiskey distillery tour and saw alot of the horse farms!!

We have been living in Kentucky for 2 weeks today. We are really enjoying the beautiful countryside as well as the nice weather! Kevin is loving his job even though he is working a ton!! I have enjoyed meeting the other interns and staff that Kevin works with. We are having a great time exploring!!

Both my parents and Mrs. Claunch helped us drive our vehicles and the U-Haul to Kentucky. We made it to New Orleans the first day and spent the night. The second day we drove the remaining distance to Lexington. We are so grateful for their help on the drive as well as unloading our stuff! Our new house is perfect for us! It is next door to the clinic, so Kevin can walk to work!

Before our parents left to head back to Texas we did some sight seeing. We went to Keenland racetrack and watched the horses training. We toured the Kentucky Horse Park and toured Churchill Downs in Louisville.

We were so lucky to have both of our families help us pack and load our U-haul. The truck was stuffed and I don't think anything else would have fit. We are sad to say goodbye to Brenham, but excited to explore Kentucky! Thank you so much to our families for all of their help!!!

Disney World

We had an amazing trip to Disney World with the Claunch family. We went to all the Disney parks as well as Universal Studios. We were able to go on tons of rides and see some great shows. We feel so lucky that we were able to have such an awesome vacation with our family!!

Kevin graduated from Texas A&M Vet School on May 13th. He is now officially Dr. Kevin M. Claunch, DVM. He has worked so hard and we are all so proud of him!!

This is my favorite time of year here in Brenham!! The bluebonnets are in full bloom along with several other types of wildflowers!! I am really going to miss this when we move!!

March and April

I have been really bad about updating this! Here is a recap of our March and April.

Kevin, my mom and I made a trip to visit my family in Iowa! We had a great time, but the trip was too short. We got to meet my cousin Cathy's new baby Hallie. She was born in December and is adorable! While we were there my other cousin Crystal had her baby. We are anxious to meet baby Allison on our next visit. We had a lot of fun on the farm and were glad we got to help with the animals! My cousin Chelsey is pregnant and it was great to see her pregnant belly and get to feel the baby kick! We also got to celebrate my Grandma Phillip's birthday!

I had a girls weekend in College Station with Emily, Erin and Angela! I am so blessed to have such wonderful friends!! We recently found out that Chris and Angela are pregnant!! We are so excited for them and know they will be amazing parents!!

We went on a vacation with the Phillip family! We went to Mexico and stayed in a resort right on the beach!! We really enjoyed the amazing food and some relaxing time on the beach. We got to swim with dolphins and complete a zip line course. We also were able to explore some natural caves in the area!! This was an awesome vacation and we all enjoyed some good family time!!

Kevin recieved an award from the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. He was given the award for being outstanding in large animal surgery!! We are all so proud of him!!

Kyle got his Aggie Ring on April 16th!! We are all so excited for him and really enjoyed getting to celebrate with him! There are now 5 members of the Claunch family that have Aggie Rings!!

Grandparents visit

Both sets of my grandparents, Mauderly and Phillip, came to visit us in January. We had so much fun with all of them. With my Grandma and Grandpa Phillip we celebrated my Grandpa Phillip's birthday and their anniversary. My Grandma and Grandpa Mauderly and my Aunt Cindy came to visit also. We celebrated my Grandma's birthday by having a girls spa day! We were so glad that they all were able to come down to visit!

New Years Eve!

We spent New Years Eve in New Orleans with my parents and our good friends the Burnetts! Angela and Chris had never been to New Orleans and we had a great time showing them around. We walked around the French Quarter, went to Pat O'Briens, participated in all the Sugar Bowl activities and ate at some amazing restaurants.

Thanksgiving

We hosted the Claunchs and the Phillips at our house in Brenham for Thanksgiving this year. We had so much fun with everyone and were so glad we could all be in one place for the holidays. After a wonderful meal, we all headed into College Station for the A&M vs UT football game.

Kevin has accepted a 1 year internship at Rood and Riddle Equine clinic in Lexington, KY. This is one of the best equine clinics in the country and we feel so blessed that Kevin has been given this amazing opportunity. We will be moving to KY in May and are so excited to see what this new adventure has in store for us!

Iowa Vacation

After leaving Kevin in Kentucky I flew to Iowa to spend a week visiting with my family. My mom, dad and I were all able to make the trip together which made it more fun! We spend our time visiting with all our family and helping my grandparents with some projects around their houses. We also got to watch my cousin play volleyball and went to a flea market with my grandpa. The time we were there went by way too fast!

Road Trip-Colorado to Kentucky

As part of Kevin's curriculum he had to spend a month working at a vet clinic. He chose to spend two weeks in Littleton,CO and two weeks in Lexington,KY. My birthday was going to be while he was gone, so I was lucky enough to get to fly up to Colorado to meet him! We drove from Colorado to Kentucky together and got to explore the country side. While in Kentucky we visit Churchill Downs, which is where the Kentucky Derby is held. We had alot of fun and I was so glad to get to spend my birthday with him.

AXO Reunion 2009!!

I went to Lake Whitney for the weekend to spend some time with some of my sorority sisters! I hadn't seen many of them in awhile, and we had a great time catching up! We spent alot of time lounging by the pool and talking with each other. Morgan and Megan planned a whole day of fun games that kept us all laughing! I had a blast and hope we can do it again real soon!!

We celebrated our 1 year anniversary on AUGUST 2, 2009!! Wow, has time flown by!! It's hard to believe we have already been married a full year! This has been a great 12 months, and I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband! To celebrate, we reserved a hotel room for the night and went out to a nice dinner! We ate the piece of wedding cake we had been saving, and it actually still tasted great! We also watched our wedding video and had fun remember what a special night it was! We had a great weekend together!

Summer!!

It's been a long time since I have posted anything! Let me catch you up on our summer!

Kevin started his 4th year of Vet school in May, and is loving it. He is offically done with classes and is working full time in the clinic at A&M. He changes rotations every 2 weeks, so he is getting the opportunity to do alot of cool things!

Things have gotten alot busier for me at work! I was out of town all 4 weeks in June! I'm enjoying it, but traveling so much sure can wear you out!

Here's a quick recap of our summer so far:

In May, Kevin had surgery on his foot, we had a house warming party for Memaw and we celebrated Mother's day with both of our moms!

Kevin's birthday was on May 16th and Angela and Chris came in town to celebrate! As always, we had a blast with them!

Kevin had a weekend off from school, so we planned a trip to the river. Kerri and Chris Aurich came with us. We floated the river Saturaday, and then went to San Antonio and spent the night on the River walk. We had a blast at the piano bar Howl at the Moon!

I spent the month of June traveling to the multiple sites where my projects for work are located. I spent a week in Mississippi, a week in Oklahoma and a week in Lousiana!

Kevin's cousin Theresa got married in Austin on July 10th. It was a beautiful wedding and she looked gorgeous. We had a great time visiting with all the family and dancing at the reception!

We spent a weekend visiting Angela and Chris! They just bought a new house in Keller and we were so excited to get to see it! It's a beautiful house and Angela has done a great job getting it decorated all ready! We were so excited to get to visit with the Martins, the Hughes and the Coxs also! We really miss all our friends from college and always enjoy getting to see them!

March and April update

Sorry its been so long since I have posted anything! Things have been really busy with us! Here's whats been going on with us in March and April!

Kristina and David,some high school friends of mine, are getting married in May. We attended their couples shower and had a great time!

Kevin spent the week of his spring break visting a vet clinic in Lexington, KY. He really enjoyed himself and got to see all kinds of new things!

Memaw has officially moved from Brownsville to Crosby. We are glad she is so close now and look forward to getting to see her more!

Kevin and I went to Forth Worth for the NASCAR races at Texas Motor Speedway. We went with some people I work with and camped out at the race track for the weekend! We went to the race on Sunday and really enjoyed ourselves!

I went to Houston to celebrate Kristina's bachlorette party. We went to dinner and then went out in Houston. We had a blast and it was great to hang out with all the girls!

Mr. and Mrs. Claunch came to stay with us for the weekend! We spent the day Saturday at the Vet School open house and then went our to dinner in College Station. After dinner we came back to Brenham and Kyle joined us for a evening full of games! We love having company and can't wait to have them come back!

That should catch everyone up. Now looking forward, Kevin only has 2 weeks left in his 3rd year of classes. It's hard to believe he only has one year of vet school left! He will begin his 4th and LAST year on May 11th. He will spend the entire year working in the clinics on the A&M campus! Kevin's graduation date is MAY 13, 2010 at 2pm. Please put it on your calendar! We would love to have all our friends and family there to celebrate with us!

Mardi Gras

Kevin and I went to New Orleans to experience our first Mardi Gras with my parents. We got to see all the awesome parades and witness the massive crowds! We had a blast and can't wait for next year!

"A Weekend to Remember"

Kevin's cousins John and Kathy sent us on a weekend retreat as a wedding gift. The Family Life organization hosts a conference title "A Weekend to Remember." It's a Christian marriage conference. We stayed in the Gaylord Texas Resort in Dallas and spent the weekend listening to amazing speakers. We had an awesome time and would recommend this to all our married friends! Kevin and I really enjoyed the time we got to spend together and feel so blessed to have had this experience! Thank you Kathy and John for giving us this opportunity! It was truly the best gift you can give a couple! We look forward to attending it again in the future!

Grandma and Grandpa Phillip's visit

My Grandma and Grandpa Phillip came down to Texas for 2 weeks to visit and escape the cold weather in Iowa. We were so excited that they came and spent a weekend with us in Brenham. We went shopping, out to dinner and spent time playing games at the house. It was my Grandpa's birthday while they were here, so we had a party one evening. We had so much fun having company at our house, and can't wait for them to come back soon!

Celine Dion Concert

I have always wanted to see Celine Dion live! I love her music and finally had the opportunity to see her here in Houston! We bought the tickets over a year ago, so needless to say we were ready for her show! My mom, Kerri, Hannah(Kerri's roommate) and I had an amazing time at the show. Celine put on an awesome show and we were definitely NOT disappointed! The evening was definitely one to remember!

Louisiana Visit

Kevin and I had an amazing first Christmas together! We are so fortunate that both of our families live close by, and we were able to spend time with both of them! We couldn't have asked for a better holiday and looked forward to many more to come!

Washington DC

I spent a week in Baltimore, MD at the Society of Women Engineers Conference. I got to listen to some great speakers and meet some great people. I was able to take one day and go visit Washington DC. I had never been before and was so excited to get the chance to go! We took a trolley tour around DC and got to see all the major highlights! The White House, the Capitol, the Lincoln Memorial, the Jefferson Memorial and the Washington Monument just to name a few. I can't wait to go back and when I have more time to spend there!

Halloween/Colorado Game

We went to a Halloween party Friday night hosted by the Vet School. I was an eskimo and Kevin was a "runaway patient." We saw alot of other great costumes. Kathy and John were in town for the weekend, so we were able to show them our house, and then go to the game with them on Saturday. We had a great time and can't wait to see them again soon!

We have added a new pet to our family! We are the proud owners of a horse named Rowdy. He is an 8 year old mustang. We are both having fun riding and taking care of him.

We had an amazing time in Hawaii! We spent time on Maui, Kauai and Oahu. We stayed in the most beautiful hotels, and all our rooms had ocean views. We were able to snorkel, horseback ride, hike to waterfalls, para-sail, attend a real luau and relax on the beach. It was an unforgettable trip and we definitely think everyone should make a trip to Hawaii. We were so fortunate to be able to go to paradise for our honeymoon. We wouldn't change a thing!

Hey everyone!! I (Kelley) thought it would be fun to start a blog!! I hope that it will help keep everyone updated on our busy lives. We have officially been married a little over 2 weeks and are loving every minute of it!! We really appreciate all of you that came to our wedding. It was definitely a night we will never forget and I hope that everyone else enjoyed themselves too! We went to Hawaii for our honeymoon and had an amazing time! It was truly paradise. Since we've been home, we have been unpacking and getting situated! We're enjoying our new house even though it is making me feel more unorganized then ever. I started my new job on Monday and Kevin started classes. I am working for BP in their Pipelines and Logistics department. So, far I'm liking my new job, but I definitely have a lot to learn. Even though we're super busy already, we are having a blast being married and are excited to see what God has planned for us!! I'll try to put up some of our honeymoon pictures soon!!
